AGM 24th September 2020

The Peak Music Society held its AGM on 24th September 2020 at 6.30 pm online by Zoom, attended by all the committee and six other members. Jennie Ball welcomed Nicky Wright to the committee and gave a review of the previous season. The last concert with Tim Horton had had to be cancelled because of the coronavirus lockdown but has been rescheduled. All the new season concerts for the autumn of 2020 have been cancelled and rescheduled, and it was hoped to start in mid-March with the Brodsky Quartet. Jennie thanked Barbara Mangles for agreeing to carry on as Treasurer until her successor was found. Barbara Mangles then presented the audited accounts for 2019/20 financial year, which showed the society’s finances remained in good health. The society’s bank accounts were in the process of being switched from RBS, which should result in a £1250 bonus when complete. Peter Skinner then gave an update on membership for this season which had decreased by one to 108, due to the sad death of a long standing member. The subscription for the upcoming Spring 2021 season has been reduced to £70 as there will only be four concerts and not the usual five. Single ticket prices will vary from £16 to £25 depending on the event. Adam Rae-Smith outlined the concerts for the Spring 2021 and the 2021/22 season. The committee were then re-elected en bloc.
