The Szymanowski String Quartet, founded in 1995, has developed into one of the most remarkable string quartets of its generation. They delight their audiences with sophisticated programmes performed with a perfect balance between intellect and passion. The quartet have explored the work and influences of the composer from whom they take their name, Karol Szymanowski.

Bartosz Woroch (violin) is a mature, accomplished artist. His immaculate intonation, flawless bow technique and sound quality are all secondary to his sublime musicianship. He has a gift for great lyrical fluency. Robert Thompson (piano) is a professional pianist and piano teacher specialising in chamber music and accompaniment. A highly experienced performer with an open-minded and versatile approach to musical collaboration and the communication of ideas. His playing is tender at lyrical moments and sharply rhythmic when required.

Goldman Ensemble (violin, horn, tuba, vibraphone, xylophone) perform a Piano Recital (Piano Not Included) which consists of arrangements from the standard concert repertoire, arranged by Ortal Goldman, the ensemble’s violinist. The music is central. A loose story line, one liners and very British humour, inspired by the musicians’ own experiences, perfectly enhances the musical performance. Each musician is an experienced, award winning performer in his/her own right, both as soloist and chamber musician. A remarkable versatile mix of exceptional technique and musicality in each of the performers.
The performance will consist of pieces or extracts arranged especially by Ortal Goldman from music by: J.S. Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Scott Joplin, Mendelssohn, Mozart and Schubert
