The Czech Pavel Haas Quartet are frequently hailed as one of the finest young quartets in the world founded in 2002. Their tone is large, quasi-orchestral. They take risks. Above all they play with passion. Based in Prague, the Quartet studied with some of the matters of the quartet world including the Borodin Quartet and the Amadeus Quartet and have worked closely with Milan Skampa.

Jack Liebeck’s (violin) performance with Katya Apekisheva (piano) has the
consistency of style and togetherness that informs their engaging performances.
Liebeck explores the music with a degree of maturity that stops short of overcooking
heady extremes. Many will like his clear, focused and direct approach. There is an
outstanding, fruitful piano partnership – warm and sonorous: two instruments gel and
toss ideas one from another but still stake their claims to prominence when the occasion demands.
