AGM 10th September 2019

The Peak Music Society held its AGM on 10th September at 6.30 pm immediately before the Classical Kicks Ensemble concert. John Foster gave a review of the previous season before Barbara Mangles presented the audited accounts for 2018/19 financial year. These showed a small surplus despite a fall in membership from 113 to 92, largely due to three of the concerts being held in Edensor Church which has a lower fee than the Cavendish Hall. Peter Skinner then gave an update on membership for this season which is back up to 109, in part due to the successful meeting at the end of May held with the membership to discuss the future direction of the society. The subscription for the coming 2019/20 season has been held at £80 and the price for single tickets at £20. The decision on the amounts for the following 2020/21 season was delegated to the committee. Adam Rae-Smith outlined the concerts for the 2019/20 and 2020/21 season. The committee were then re-elected en bloc. John Foster retired as Chairman at the end of his three year term, but will continue to serve on the committee. Jennie Ball replaces John as Chairman and she thanked John for his contribution before presenting him with a small token of appreciation from the committee.
